This is a list of national arts resource organisations that support the development of professional practice and that are specialists in their fields. The resource is an access point to a range of organisations that advocate for the sector, give advice, publish material, and act as portals to further information including philanthropy, export, Indigenous networks and education.
Arts Law Centre of Australia
The Arts Law Centre of Australia is the national community legal centre for the arts and provides specialised legal and business advice and referral services, professional development resources and advocacy for artists and arts organisations.
Asialink
Asialink is a non-academic department of the University of Melbourne supported by the Myer Foundation and the University of Melbourne. Asialink promotes public understanding of the countries of Asia and of Australia's role in the region. They are a key provider of information, training and professional networks including arts residencies, exhibitions and special projects.
Austrade
Austrade is a government agency that provides Australian companies with the knowledge, advice and practical support to help them succeed in an increasingly global economy.
Australia Council for the Arts
The Australia Council is the Australian Government's arts funding and advisory body. It directly supports young, emerging and established artists, as well as new and established organisations.
Australian Copyright Council
The Australian Copyright Council is an independent non-profit organisation. The Council provides information, advice and training about copyright in Australia, produce publications and make submission on copyright policy issues.
Australian Council of University Art and Design Schools
ACUADS is the peak discipline body of university visual arts, crafts and design. The Council represents over thirty Australian Universities and TAFE art and design faculties, schools and departments.
Australian Institute Of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Studies
AIATSIS recognises the need for libraries, archives and other collecting agencies to use more appropriate headings to catalogue and index Indigenous material. They have 3 thesauri available on their website - subject (topical), language and place.
Copyright Agency Ltd
Copyright Agency Ltd (CAL) is a non-profit rights management company that has been collecting and distributing copyright fees for authors, artists and publishers for more than 20 years. CAL was recently appointed by the Australian government to manage the visual artists' resale royalty scheme.
Council for the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences
CHASS is a key advocacy organisation for the humanities, arts and social sciences, and serves as a forum for academics, students, business, practitioners and the broader community. The organisation represents people working in research, education and practice.
Creative Industries Skills Council
The Creative Industry Skills Council is the lead industry body providing high-level strategic vocational education and training advice. The Council facilitates collaboration between businesses, government and registered training providers at state and national levels to support economic growth within the creative industries in Queensland.
IP Australia
IP Australia a government agency and is responsible for administering patents, trade marks and designs.
National Association for the Visual Arts
NAVA is the peak body representing and advancing the professional interests of the Australian visual arts and craft sector through advocacy, representation and service provision.
Philanthropy Australia
Philanthropy Australia is the national peak body for philanthropy in Australia and represent, grow and inspire an effective and robust philanthropic sector for the community.
Viscopy Limited
VISCOPY Limited is a copyright collecting agency for the visual arts, representing Australian visual artists in the Australia Pacific region and artists internationally for the Australasian territory.
Visions of Australia
Visions of Australia provide funding to eligible organisations to develop and tour exhibitions of Australian cultural material, nationally.
