This grant provides assistance towards the costs of public presentation of visual arts, craft and design. This can include, but is not limited to, framing, media releases, media photographs, advertising, space rental, installation costs, promotional printing, mail outs, documentation, freight, travel, equipment rental, insurance, technical assistance and opening costs.

Australian Tapestry Workshop Melbourne
The artist- in- residence program invites Australian artists to immerse themselves in the unique studio environment of the Workshop.
To be selected, artists need to demonstrate an element in their practice that relates to tapestry. The opportunity of a salon-style exhibition at the Workshop at the end of the residency is one of many benefits of the program.
The Workshop is interested in receiving submissions from artists who would like to participate in its residency program.

The Australian Network for Art & Technology (ANAT) National
The Australian Network for Art & Technology (ANAT) is calling for applications from artists and science and research organisations for the 2012 Synapse Residency program. Now in its seventh round, the program is a core element of the Synapse initiative of the Australia Council for the Arts and ANAT, which supports collaboration between artists and scientists. The residencies are open to Australian artists with a demonstrated interest in science working in any discipline and/or medium. Australian-based residencies of 16 weeks' duration that take place during the 2012 calendar year will be supported.

The Curator Mentorship Initiative (previously known as the Curator Development Initiative), supported by the Sidney Myer Fund, injects up to $60,000 annually into the visual arts, craft and design sector and supports the professional development of emerging and mid-career curators of exhibitions and collections in Australia. The Initiative provides the opportunity for emerging and mid-career curators to gain mentored placements within a gallery, art institution or university.

Freedman Foundation Travelling Scholarship for Emerging Artists

The Freedman Foundation Travelling Scholarship for Emerging Artists provides assistance towards travel and/or tuition costs for young people building a career in the visual arts broadly in the areas of painting, photography or sculpture. Overseas travel (preferably for the first time) to undertake formal study, a residency or a planned program with a professional artist or mentor will be considered, as will informal study for a planned research project.

Guest Editor, Suzie Attiwill is calling for papers on the theme of A World in Making: Cities Craft Design.
On 12 March 1913, a naming ceremony took place in an empty paddock on a hill. This rural environment was to become a city, the capital city of Australia, the city of Canberra. The aspirations and the projections of the Griffins' winning design for Canberra are an example of a world-in-making involving the practices of design and craft. This issue of craft + design enquiry will be published in 2013 - 100 years after this event and when, for the first time in history, more than half the world's population live in cities.

La Macina di San Cresci , established in 2001, is a place for creation, presentation and documentation of contemporary art in all its forms.
The centre consists of gallery, studios and a residence for artists. This historic setting was restored with the intent of providing a setting to accommodate and imagine new forms of dialogue within the context of art and culture.
Artist residency consist of sojourning from 7 to 90 days, with a possible time extension subject to availability.
