Choosing Craft - Vicki Halper Speaking Tour April 2011

This Special Edition of ca enews brings to your attention some 'big picture' ideas. Craft Australia is hosting American curator, writer and historian, Vicki Halper in Australia from 1 – 21 April 2011. In addition, this month the ACDC network has released Tipping Point, a publication which demonstrates ways the ACDC network invests in support for artists, innovation and design, innovation and new technologies.

We present a paper by Professor Ted Snell who looks at how design thinking is influencing a new Future Framework at the University of Western Australia. It is noted that the Visual Arts Board of the Australia Council for the Arts has funded a new generation of object, craft and design practitioners, including supporting the Australian Design Alliance, the Australia India Design Platform with RMIT and the ACDC Design Catalyst Forum Gallery at the Design Triennial, Asia Pacific.
